-Home Repair Assistance: Through various programs, Del Norte County provides funds to assist homeowners to maintain and/or improve their properties.

-Contesting Your Assessed Property Value: Since any increase or decrease in assessed value will impact the amount of taxes you pay, it is very important to contact the Assessor’‘s Office if you feel that the assessed value exceeds the market value of your property.

-Property Assessment Information: Secured property taxes are assessed against real property (e.g., land or structures) by the County Assessor’s Office based on the value of the property established on January 1 of each calendar year.

-Getting a Building Permit: A building permit must be obtained before you erect, construct, enlarge, alter, move, repair, improve, convert, or demolish any building or structure.

-Looking Up Property Records: The Assessor’s Office allows residents to view, free of charge, basic information about properties in Del Norte County such as assessed value, assessor’s parcel number (APN), document number, property address and other information.
